Jack is experienced in land-use planning, development and project management. He is responsible for managing landowner groups, providing strategic land-use planning advice and navigating the Ontario planning system through approvals for his clients. He also has extensive experience in mediation and settlement discussion before the Ontario Land Tribunal.
Joan MacIntyre // Principal

Joan is a principal of the firm with experience in the coordination, planning, design and approvals of a wide variety of projects, including large-scale residential communities and commercial, industrial and recreation/resort development. Her other experience includes urban design and the preparation and administration of financial schedules for cost-sharing agreements. Joan has primarily been involved in the planning and coordination of large-scale block or master plans. Her residential projects include developments ranging from small subdivisions to communities for up to 300,000-plus people.

Lauren is a land-use planner and project manager with Malone Given Parsons. She is a Registered Professional Planner and a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the American Planning Association. In her role, Lauren is responsible for strategic and land-use planning projects, policy formulation and development impact analyses for public and private sector clients. She has extensive experience managing a variety of applications through the development approvals process including representing clients at Committee and Council meetings and the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Matthew is responsible for guiding planning initiatives through municipal and regional approval processes. His work includes master planning and project management for landowner groups, growth management and policy creation for municipal clients, and the preparation and management of development applications for individual landowners. Matthew is familiar with best practices of sustainability in the planning process, smart growth and growth management techniques.

Don is a founding partner of Malone Given Parsons Throughout his career, Don has gained diverse experience in the fields of land-use planning, municipal development controls and master planning. Don frequently plays the role of the lead planner and coordinator of large scale master plans. His leadership skills and a broad range of experience in all aspects of development enables him to effectively weave together a mix of planning and environmental and political objectives with landowners’ aspirations into a fabric of attractive and functional communities. He has presented expert testimony across a wide range of planning issues before the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Allyssa is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP), Member of the Canadian Institute of Planning (MCIP), and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) with over 15 years of experience. With a master’s in urban design, Allyssa simultaneously addresses design and planning problems to deliver sound planning and urban design solutions. Founded through her broad collection of planning and urban design projects at all scales across Ontario and the US, Allyssa brings a strong understanding of the connection between the built environment, planning policies, and urban dynamics to projects. With a keen focus on creating great places, she understands the importance of defining and maintaining a strong vision to guide planning strategies. She has extensive experience with policy analysis, master planning, secondary plan development, growth management strategies, land needs assessments, scenario planning, urban design studies and guidelines, development applications, plans of subdivision, site analysis and design, public consultation, and graphic presentation.

He is committed to keeping up with new trends and design software.

Catalina Cardenas // Junior Planner

Catalina is a Junior Planner with Malone Givens Parsons. She is acquiring a wide range of experiences in land use planning by conducting due diligence research, preparing planning justification reports, and contributing to the management of projects. Catalina has acquired many technical skills by assisting in the submission of official plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, and draft plan of subdivision applications. She has a keen interest in the development approvals process and enjoys fostering relationships with current and future clients.

Diane has been an urban designer with Malone Given Parsons and is responsible for design, layout and site planning of a wide variety of projects in residential development. Primarily, Diane is involved with the coordination and design of plans of subdivision, large scale block plans and master plans and mapping. Other experience includes the preparation and submission of applications for official plan and zoning by-law amendments and plans of subdivision.

His prior experience includes drafting work with other planning firms and managing a recreational facility in Toronto.
Jenner Dekkema // Planning Technician
Jenner works in the graphics department with Malone Given Parsons. He attended Mohawk College in Hamilton where he completed the Urban and Regional Planning course. He is responsible for creating report graphics, concept plans, block plans and plan of subdivision design and revisions. His other experience includes assisting in the preparation of zoning by-law amendment and plan of subdivision submissions. Jenner is interested in mapmaking, archeology and history, as well as new developments in the GTHA.
